Daxter is a platform video game and a spin-off of the Jak & Daxter series that takes place during the 2-year time jump that occurs during the opening cinematic of Jak II. Unlike the other installments in the franchise, which center mostly on Jak, the game concentrates on his sidekick Daxter’s adventures while Jak is imprisoned.
Throughout the game’s scenario, players adopt the character of Daxter, a bug exterminator who is seeking his friend Jak. Daxter can do double jumps and ledge grabs, crouch to fit through tight spaces, utilize trampolines to reach higher ledges and ride zip lines, and employ vehicles to navigate the game world’s terrain. Within the main landscape, there are portals and gateways that lead to areas with tasks that players must perform in order to progress through the plot.
